Acceptable Use Policy

Effective: 2025-10-26

This Acceptable Use Policy (the "AUP") supplements our Terms and Conditions and describes prohibited uses of the Revisit Service. By using the Service, you agree to comply with this AUP.

Your responsibility as the data controller

When you use the Revisit Recorder on your website(s), you are the data controller and are solely responsible for:

  • Determining what data to collect and how to use it
  • Obtaining all necessary consents and providing required disclosures to your visitors
  • Complying with all applicable privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, ePrivacy, etc.)
  • Configuring privacy controls (masking, IP minimization, DNT/GPC honor, etc.)
  • Ensuring your use of session recording is lawful and ethical

Leveloper Kft. acts solely as your data processor and provides the technical infrastructure. We do not control what you record or how you use the data. You must ensure your use complies with all applicable laws and respects user privacy.

Best practices and recommendations

To use the Service responsibly and lawfully, we recommend:

  • Provide clear privacy notices: Disclose session recording in your privacy policy and/or via banner
  • Obtain consent where required: Use cookie/consent management if required by law (e.g., EU ePrivacy Directive)
  • Configure content masking: Mask sensitive form fields (passwords, credit cards, SSNs) using data attributes or CSS selectors
  • Honor privacy signals: Our recorder honors DNT and GPC by default; ensure this aligns with your privacy promises
  • Minimize IP addresses: Enable IP minimization if full IP addresses are not needed
  • Limit retention: Delete old recordings you no longer need; don't retain data indefinitely
  • Respect data subject rights: Provide mechanisms for users to access, delete, or opt out of recording
  • Secure access: Use strong passwords, enable MFA, regularly review team access
  • Test carefully: Review sample recordings to ensure sensitive data isn't being captured
